Escape of the Mahogany Moth

This started as an experiment with my scroll saw. I cut all the pieces out and shaped them, then it got reassembled so each piece was back in the wood grain where it belongs. The wood grain flows continuously through the moth as if it is escaping from the wood.

Book Matched Walnut Panel Wall Hanging

A walnut board split down the middle on the band saw and then opened like a book. the two inside “pages” create a mirror image in the wood grain. The two halves are joined together at the spine of the book match.

Walnut Cat Puzzle Set

Hand‑cut walnut puzzles finished with food‑grade mineral oil for a warm, natural glow. Designed as heirloom pieces meant to be played with, handled, and loved for decades. Mirrored live‑edge corners and cathedral grain give the pair a connected, organic feel.

Walnut Dresser

This dresser was built from rough cut walnut and oak plywood with oak handles. Soft close sliding drawers and maple ply on the inside of the drawers to make it bright when you open a drawer. The two front legs of the dresser are book matched to each other creating a mirror image of the grain.

Cedar Swing

This is a great place to sit and listen to the birds. The swing is made of cedar so it is outdoor friendly. As it ages it becomes a beautiful grey.

Modular Synthesizer Case

This is my modular synthesizer I have been building. I like to make music and sound design. The case is designed so you can reach all the modules easily. The top is mahogany, the sides are oak plywood, and it features a solid maple wrist rest at the bottom.

Walnut Hat Rack

This was made from the same walnut as the dresser. I wanted to showcase the original rough cut (green base). I built it to experiment with dowel joinery so no screws or nails are used.

Modular Synth Case

This was the first design for the modular synth case. It is shaped similar to a mixing console.

Modular Tool Chest / Organization System

This toolbox was designed for modular organization in mind. Each drawer can be pulled out completely and moved to any of the drawer slots. A double sized drawer can be moved where two single sized drawers go, or triple sized drawers can be used. The case that the drawers slide into can be utilized in various places, like different rooms. This allows for drawers to be moved from room to room. This is a 2×2 configuration, but any number of cases can be bolted together to make very large modular drawer systems.

Studio Desk

This is a custom 19 inch rack desk for music studio work. Most studio desks don’t have enough rack space on top of the desk were it can be reached easily. This one has 12U per side on the desktop! 8U per side down below for a total of 40U of 19 inch rack space!

Various other projects

Below are other woodwork designs for various purposes. The step stool with tool storage is one of my most used pieces.
